Headed up to New Ing lodge for a weekend with a group. We were welcomed by Scott and Jamie who showed us around, sorted everything we needed and made all the facilities available to us.

All activities and the night out were spot on and based on their own recommendations, they even cooked an awesome breakfast the morning after.

A perfect place for a peaceful contryside escape or a great base for something more adventurous. If your looking to relax or get involved the lads at New Ing will make sure you get what you want.

A real gem, with excellent hosts - very informal, you get invited into the kitchen for a chat. A walker's paradise, geared for that trade.

Walked right into an oasis of 'home'...
We really enjoyed the warm welcome, the cleanliness of the rooms, the deliscious breakfast (compliments to the chef(s) and the rustic and original 'farm' character of the hostel itsself!! An all-round applause: well worth a stay!

New Ing lodge is a great place to bring the family after a hard days walk or a leisurely stroll around the lake district. The Lodge has plenty to do for young children asthey have a chicken pen, with young chicks and a very friendly dog too. We were lucky enough to get some free "free range" eggs from them too. With good food with big portions for a good price, why wouldnt you want to experience their home cooking and relax in front of a log fire and put your feet up watching t.v. Their enthusiasm to ensure you make the most of your time whilst in the eastern fells is second to none. With lots of local knowledge and no shortage of information. Campers welcome too. Fantastic set up

Stayed here on our Lands End to John O Groats cycle ride. What a great place, warm welcome, comfortable, clean, great food...would highly recommend it.

Thank you Scott for such a lovely weekend. The walk was a challenge but well worth it, not only for the welcoming fire on our return but also the cosy rooms and great company into the evening. We will definitely be back, with children next time, to see how gorgeous Tia has grown and get more yummy fresh eggs from your chooks!

Stayed at New Ing Lodge, thought it was mint! Food was brilliant, rooms were homely, lads were great. I would definatley recommend you pay them a visit.

just got back from new ing lodge where i stayed with three friends in two twin rooms.
new ing lodge was brilliant, great location, offering good accommodation at affordable prices. evening meal was great and breakfast even better. staff were really friendly and were always on hand to help.
would definately reccommend new ing lodge and return as soon as possible.

We had awesome stay at New Ing Lodge. A big thanks to Scott & Jamie - they were so helpful throughout the stay and helped us plan a weekend of activities - from planning bike rides to showing us all the local pubs. Our room was clean, spacious and quiet, well-furnished with a big and very comfy bed. Breakfast was brilliant! I would highly recommend New Ing Lodge and I will definitely be returning.

Had a great time,chickens were cool, food great. Nice lads n lasses in charge. We were in dorm room, cheap and cheerfull.

I had an awesome stay at new ing lodge, i stayed in the dormatory room and went down the local pub and had a wicked night the accomodation was comfortable and the staff where nice and helpfull and gave me an awesome meal. Loved it!!
