New Ing Lodge is situated on the A6 16 miles north of Kendal and 12 miles south of Penrith. It is at the north end of Shap Village, opposite the supermarket, just off the main road.
It is ideally located for the northern and eastern Lakeland fells, and is only a short drive from the rest of the National Park. It is situated directly on the Wainwright Coast to Coast footpath.
New Ing is 2 miles off Junction 39 of the M6, so is ideal if you want to break a long journey. It also make us just over an hour from the cities of Liverpool, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester, and less than an hour from Newcastle and Preston.
