Welcome to New Ing Lodge!
Our friendly bed and breakfast / hostel has 9 letting rooms directly on Wainwrights coast to coast. We are situated as the first accommodation in town once entering Shap from a days walk from Patterdale. We have recently started offering evening meals on request and have camping pitches if the weather permits!
New Ing Lodge is located within 3 miles of J39 on the M6 and set back from the A6 which makes us very accessible for all to reach. Our bed and breakfast is based in Shap, on the edge of the Lake District National Park and the Howgills and the Pennine Fells. We are also situated on the Westmoreland Way.

Dates: Jul 30, 2010 to Aug 1, 2010 Three-day music festival, including camping, set in the heart of the Lake District which provides the most beautiful backdrop for a weekend of cutting edge music and festivity. Going to its fifth year in 2010 this sellout festival stays true to its original ethos supplying the cream of the local crop of artists alongside national and international performers. Festival goers should expect over 100+ live acts and DJ's across 7 stages over 3 days and long summer nights. Aside from the music in 2008 there was interactive art installations and graffiti, Cumbrian olympics, a children's play area, big love inflatable church, breakdancing/music workshops, funfair, folk and roofs, real ale and live comedy/cabaret. 2008 acts included The Streets, The Zutons, Ash, Goldie Lookin chain, Idlewild, Noah and the Whale, Nine Black Alps, Krafty Kuts, Stanton Warriors, Andrew Weatherall, Skream, Chase and Status, Beardyman, Tunng, Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show, Frank Turner and many more. 2010 will be a very special 5th birthday celebration. With extended exhibition space, lots of live music, workshops and 'Guitar Factor' contest with pre auditions on July 18th 2010. With a great line-up of top players on stage and in the informal demo room, a huge array of guitars old and new plus loads of amps effects and related gear to try out.
